Milestones
- 1799 The first files and rasps are produced: the first chapter of our success story.
- 1897 Relocation to Marienheide: a new era begins.
- 1929 The company receives its very first patent for the “revolving tool with cut teeth”. Further patents and innovations follow.
- 1942 The rotary cutter for manual use is developed and patented: an innovation with a promising future.
- 1951 Development work starts on resinoid-bonded, pulp-reinforced grinding and cut-off wheels for use on angle grinders. These wheels help drive our success forward.
- 1987 A new dimension of grinding: the first POLIFAN flap discs for grinding without vibrations or noise.
- 1998 The first website launches, followed by an online shop: we push ahead with digitalisation.
- 2011 We’re recognized as one of the top 100 most innovative companies among German SMEs and trade partners.
- 2010-2024 Innovations such as the High Speed Disc ALUMASTER, material-specific tungsten carbide burrs, the POLIFAN CURVE, CC-GRIND VIEW and the RCK drive system all demonstrate that we’re not just a manufacturer – we provide solutions to help our customers succeed right across the globe.
- 2025 Brand relaunch: PFERD becomes PFERD TOOLS – more modern, digital and international.
